Couples Counselling

Our relationships are amongst our most rewarding experiences and they can bring us great joy and fulfilment.

When we encounter problems in our relationships, it can be hurtful and we can feel sadness and pain. Relationships can become a source of pain when we don't feel seen and heard by our partner, breeding resentment and anger.

By opening the channels of communication, giving you both the chance to be seen and heard, your relationship can move forward in a way that works for both of you. Acknowledging what draws you together and what differences you bring encourages awareness and acceptance. Couples counselling provides the space for you to work together to build a better future for your relationship.

Empowerment in couples counselling is about maintaining open communication and making relationship decisions together.

Couples come to counselling together for many reasons, such as:

  • Communication difficulties

  • Trust issues

  • Infidelity

  • Work/life imbalance

  • Lack of intimacy

  • Sexual problems

  • Considering separation or divorce

  • Differences in parenting styles

  • Stuck in a negative cycle

I work in a Solution Focused way when counselling couples. This helps to move the relationship forward in a positive way. Whilst the problems that brought you to counselling need to be acknowledged, Solution Focused work is primarily about the future of your relationship.
