Awareness brings change

How can I help you?

Therapy offers you a safe and non-judgemental place to talk. I can help you to talk about your experiences and to embrace your ability to control your own life. We work together on developing personal empowerment and exploring feelings of anger, grief and vulnerability.

It may be the case that you experience Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID) or Non Epileptic Attack Disorder (NEAD) as a result of childhood abuse. We can work on managing these conditions towards them having less of an impact on your life.

By working through the feelings you have about yourself, we can address guilt and shame and build emotional resilience and trust as well as reduce any reliance on substances. This will enable you to have a positive sense of self and to be able to engage in healthy relationships.

I'm Laura and I work with adult survivors of childhood abuse and trauma.

I became a counsellor because I understand what it's like to live life feeling disconnected from yourself, feeling ashamed, rejected and alone. I want to help people gain connection with themselves and with the people that matter most to them.

I have worked as a counsellor for over 6 years, helping people to work through the challenges they face and move towards a life that embraces who they truly are.

"I saw Laura during a very difficult period in my life. She made me feel comfortable to talk. Laura made me realise that my fears and challenges during this time were valid and it was ok to feel overwhelmed. After each session, I left feeling much more positive."

"I had few counselling sessions with Laura, mainly to discuss my past issues which I had never dealt with. I'm so glad I finally had the courage to do this as not talking about them definitely had an impact on my self esteem, lack of confidence and trust issues. Once I got talking to Laura, everything seemed to flow out of me and it made me realise that had I not, they would still haunt me. I didn't get upset talking to Laura, in fact it was a huge relief. The past will never change but Laura helped me to move forward, to make time for me and things I enjoy."

"When I first met Laura, I was in a very tough place mentally. My anxiety was so severe it was affecting every aspect of my life and threatening my relationship. Throughout our sessions, Laura has shown a lot of understanding and helped me find ways of making sure my anxiety did not defeat me. She is extremely professional and digs deep into possible causes of mental health issues starting from childhood, helping unlock experiences and by doing that you can piece everything together to create the whole picture. A year on, my job, my mental health and my relationship are the best they have ever been. I could not recommend her enough. Thank you."
